Martin Luther Jubilee Artifacts, Posters, and Exhibit, 1983.

This collection contains artifacts produced in celebration of the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's birth. Included are flash cards which contain information in German about Martin Luther, his family, associates, and works; three Martin Luther copper medallions produced by or for Fortress Press, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, White Plains, New York (possibly designed by The Rev. Frederick J. Schumacher), and Celebration Arts of Huntington Station, New York; an enamel pin designed by Frederick J. Schumacher for the Metropolitan New York Synod, Lutheran Church in America Convention, June 2-4, 1983; and a porcelain plate which was produced by Bing and Grondahl of Copenhagen, Denmark. Book jackets from books published in connection with the anniversary are also include in the series. Most of these publication titles are in. German. Advertisement posters for the Martin Luther Jubilee are also found in the collection. Several posters include U.S. First Day Martin Luther commemorative postal stamps. One Anniversary poster depicts the Martin Luther stamp itself. A Martin Luther exhibit, mounted on exhibit board, is also included with these materials. It is unclear where the exhitit was displayed.
